Dear Giancarlo,
Sinusitis is not caused by bacteria but by the waste products engulfed by mucus. Bacteria enter the scene only after all efforts to prevent or remove the waste material have failed (for exact process and origin of sinusitis see The Key to Health and Rejuvenation, www.1stbooks.com, 888-280-7715). The bacteria don't infect the cells of the sinus lining because they are vicious but because the sticky waste-filled mucus also attaches itself to the cells. While they try to break down the waste, the cells become infected and inflamed. This, however, generates puss (dead cells)and other toxic acids which affect the nerves, cause pain and increasingly impair the sense of taste, smell, and possibly sight as well as hearing.
Mucus is discharged by the gastro-intestinal tract when irritating foods, improperly digested foods or certain substances/chemicals are ingested. These are the most common causes: Milk, cheese, yoghurt, sugar, white flour products, pastry, common sweets such as choccolate, meat and other animal proteins (see today's post on question about vegetarian diet), peanuts, peanut butter, brazil nuts, cashews, ready-made salad dressings, bottled sauces, cooked tomatoes, chili peppers, vinegar, chemicals, preservatives, coloring agents, fizzy drinks, bottled or boxed fruit juices, eating too many fruits, combining fruit and other foods in one meal, eating heavy meals at night, eating in between meals, deep fried foods, junk foods, etc.
Chronic sinusitis is a sign of constant digestive trouble. This may indicate the need for liver cleansing (see The Amazing Liver Cleanse, 1stbooks.com).
I hope this will give you a good idea,
Andreas
