Sue,
Myme disease is not easily detected. It is called "the Great Imposter" because it can have such a broad range of symptoms that it is often misdiagnosed. Millions of people who are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, Alzheimer's, chronic fatigue syndrome and other degenerative diseases may very well have Lyme disease. Lyme disease was first recognized in the United States in 1975, after a mysterious outbreak of arthritis near Lyme, Connecticut. It wasn't until 1982 that the spirochete (bacterium) that causes Lyme was identified. Many now see the disease, also called Lyme borreliosis, as more than a simple infection, but rather as a complex illness that can consist of other coinfections.
Lyme poses a public health risk, because doctors may treat the wrong disease or not find the true cause, thereby delaying treatment. It is not just tick-borne; it can also be transmitted by other insects, including fleas, mosquitoes and mites and by human-to-human contact. Some researchers believe that Lyme is at the base of both chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia; the difference between the two being related to the virulence of the organism and the individual immune response. All three illnesses were "discovered" around the same time in the 1980s. Except when it is diagnosed at a very early stage, Lyme is rarely cured by a simple course of antibiotics. This disease requires something "more" than just ordinary antibiotics.
Early signs and symptoms can include an expanding skin rash, called erythema migrans, and flulike symptoms, such as body aches and mild fever. Up to 90% of people with Lyme disease develop a circular rash at the site of the tick bite.
Ionic silver from www.ENIVA.Com is a fast way to target the germs, so may be colloidal silver, although to a lesser extent. The natural sugar Xylitol (GlobalSweet.com) works well with all infectious bacteria by preventing them from leaching onto the cell walls; they are simply flushed away with the body fluids. Lapacho or Pau d'Arco, 4 caps 3 times per day, acts as a natural antibiotic.
Having said all this, there must a fertile ground for these germs to germinate and cause infection. A stressed immune system, and or congested liver and digestive system usually determine whether contact with the germ turns into Lyme Disease or not. Cleansing these organs and keeping them clean helps to ward of such forms of infections.
With kind regards,
Andreas
