Hi Karlin,
Good instincts to try the pulsar for healing injuries. From what I have read, and experienced, the research suggests low level magnetic fields work more effectively than the higher fields for this purpose. I do not have a pulsar myself, but I believe it puts out a really high field strength. I have included a link to read some research.
I have been working with low level pulsed electromagnetic fields for the past year and will share my experiences with you.
56 year old man, 3 month old hip replacement not healing, alot of pain, still taking heavy doses pain meds. After 2 days of PEMF treatment, hip area bruised. One week later, no pain meds necessary. Was able to resume long walks on the beach, pain free.
55 year old female, hernia in abdominal area. Long term use of PEMF (about 4 months), she cannot locate the hole. Still has some pain, but with continued use of PEMF, I would expect further healing.
Myself, I used the PEMF one year after having a caesarian section to clean up the scar tissue and experienced a dull ache in that area for about a week.
Now, from what you described, a sensation in your shin when applying the pulsar to that area, would indicate that something is happening. If I were you, I would continue to apply the pulsar to your shin to see what happens. PEMF's are side effect free! Experiment! But do read the research on the difference between hi and lo level magnetic fields.
Hope this helps,
Lisa
