Hi, I just had two root canals in my bottom two front teeth. I guess they were both dead. They explained to me that it was to get all the dead tissue and infection out so to allow new healthy roots to grow back in. It was an attempt to try and save them he said. I didn't get any caps, all I know is that composites were used over the canals. I was wondering if anyone knew what they're usually filled with? Can they still cause problems without getting capped? I tried to find some refrences but a lot of root canals are capped it seems, all the stories i've sifted through so far involve capped root canals. Thanks for answering my questions. I'm trying to get my amalgam's removed soon so this kind of has me worried.
