Yes, the Prilosac is contributing to your yeast imbalance.
When your digestion is turned down, well, think of a fire with a very small flame - can it boil and disenfect things? Nope! The stomach is responsible for taking care of the fungi on your food so that it doesn't pass thru to the colon and bloodstream where it can proliferate.
I thought my stomach pain was acid reflux, but it was a kind of backwash from a weak liver, which also leads to candida overgrowth. When I got stressed, like a huge family argument, I'd feel "acid stomach" but it was really a liver/gallbladder "spasm." I know now because the problem has totally been cured since doing a series of liver flushes, including the shoulder/back/arm pain that went along with it.
Antacids like Nexium helped a bit, but only a bit, and caused my tongue to be coated, which I know from Ayurvedic medicne, meant that candida and undigested food particles were now lining my entire alimentary canal.
HCL Betaine is usually taken in too large doses. Rather than taking smaller, people just stop. A more natural remedy is lemon juice or apple cider vinegar, both of which help to balance stomach and small intestine for better, pain-free digestion. Please refer to the "How to Increase the Power of Digestion" post in my forum (Ask Shelley), on page 12 I think, for natural remedies to your problem, if you'd like to be drug-free for the rest of your life. :)
