I can only tell you that people come to the liverflush forum and have to start the liverflush because they still have symptoms after the surgery.
The main reason is that the liver is still filled with stones (usually soft cholesterol ones) and it stops the bile flow. They can not be seen on an ultrasound.

No, mine was gb and totally necessary. I had pain for 4 years before I caved in and went to the ER (I thought it was acid reflux). Dr said I couldn't wait and operated on a Sunday am. Had I waited any longer to come in I wouldn't have made it. That was 2/27/05 and I was back at my desk on 3/14 (after being told I'd probably need 6 weeks off). I feel great, can eat anything without pain (except broken glass and nails of course) and would do it again in a heart beat.
