I agree with you evanluck... however I would add; move forward at YOUR OWN pace. Do not let the speed of a crazy world dictate time to you. If you make a change and move forward (my first was cutting out ALL artificial ingredients in food that I could substitute good things for) like replacing bad oils/fats with good ones, the path will be a little smoother and not so shocking to your system.
If it takes you a day, week, month to make a change and stick with it so be it. Positive change is good, making the change a habit or a permanent part of your lifestyle is better. Do not let those who would sabotage your progress discourage you (I deal with this all of the time with family and social circles in all corners of the medical industry). If you backstep a day here and there or during a vacation that is okay too. It takes time to adjust to changes and be comfortable with them.
I have had excellent results (I had a low thyroid as well) with coconut oil, using unrefined salt and sea vegetables. I eat Dulse and/or Kelp almost daily in a wide variety of food recipes.
My motivation came when I realized that no one had the power to help me (no body would either, but that is another story) and that I had to take responsibility for myself.
It is kind of like moreless says, all he can do is offer the information, you have to make the choice on whether to use it or not; the power is yours to take if you so chose.
