I have had several "breakthroughs" with my back pain. Each time I tried a different technique. I related it to a feeling--broken heart. I did about 5 different aspects on that. It was better for about 3 days. I tried "chasing the pain" that lasted for one day. I have tried basic tapping it lessens it for about half an hour. All this tapping is exhausting....So I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I have only been doing this for about a month, but I have researched it everyday. for chronic severe pain I would recommend she see an EFT expert if one is available. Some people can be rid of it forever in one session. for others, It takes alot of detective work and some time and seemingly endless tapping to unroot the cause.
I would also recommend reading Pete Egoscue's books and looking at his website. I believe with a combonation of the two, an eventual relief of pain will come. I have just started though, and I can tell you it is alot of work and at times seems very discouraging (EFT and the e-cises) but, my pain always waxes and wanes. If it were always there I think I would be more dedicated.
BTW standard Physical Therapy protocal made me worse. I hope I was of some help
