hi all,
i had got four of my molars filled with Amalgam fillings 3 months ago,(i wasn't aware of mercury toxicity then)& about 1 month later i got pregnant for the first time & miscarried when i was 8 weeks through.(i wasn't pregnant at the time i got them filled with Amalgam ).now i have this extremely troubling doubt that could these fillings have contributed a role in my miscarriage? my gynaecologist told me that it was out of sheer bad luck & nothing else was wrong with me,although she wasn't aware of my fillings.
now,if that could b the case, then is it safe to get those fillings removed so that i can ensure that i'll have a succesfull pregnancy next time? and i also want to know about the approximate cost of it's removal as i don't have a dental insurance.iam dying to know about this mercury fillings.please can anyone help me out in providing the correct infomation? it would b of great help to me.

MoreThis is a reply to # 351,700Yes Wrenn's advice is very good. You should have these fillings removed if you can, there are natural methods to remove the mercury that is in your body after you have them removed, which is much better than walking around with that mercury in your mouth for years, releasing its toxins everyday. Good for you that you recognize the problem!

The others advice is great, as there are sections of curezone devoted entirely to this topic.
I have read a lot about mercury toxicity and have yet to encounter anything suggesting that mercury fillings could cause the death of a fetus. I have read that it can leave trace amounts in the brains and other organs, but nothing to suggest the enoumous level of toxicity which could cause death.
Anyone in this forum who would suggest otherwise is behaving completely irresponsibly with a severe lack of compassion considering all that you have gone through.
What your doctor is saying is correct. Sometimes the body simply rejects the birth for a variety of reasons. Although it is difficult, it is completely natural and happens every day.
Surely get those things removed, but please do not take on the burden and guilt of thinking you caused a miscarriage because of an innocent trip to the dentist. There is no chance that this is true.

This is a reply to # 351,714i do not see any posts here that stated she lost her child because of mercury.
we simply offered her an answer to her question...where to go to get the fillings removed, how to learn more about this etc.
i personally feel that it is a deep sad thing that she has lost a child, but do not in anyway see that she has done anything to bring that about.
i do not see any reason why she should worry about additional pregnancies/ tho as a precautionary if she should get pregnant before having the fillings removed, i would (personally , myself)
opt to wait on removal/ til after the child is born.
i have 2 old silver fillings from as a child.
i do not have the resources to have them removed etc/ i do not have dental ins.
the main thing i do is NOT use hydrogen peroxide in my mouth.
i also implement detox means such as the footpads (see ask Dr.
Vinogard forum) and also herbs and pascalite clay foot treatments/ to draw metal toxins out of my body gently..at a slow pace so i do not have a mess of released metal toxins free floating in my body.
i don't think anyone here would be so callous to even suggest that she was in anyway responsible for her miscarriage..
only the coldest meanest hearted person would do that.
she has my utmost sincere empathy .
i tried to avoid that subject out of respect for her sorrow in her sharing, and just simply answer the question,
" who can i talk to to get good resource info."
I think perhaps you misread the posts in some way , if you think there was any insinuations along the lines you suggested.
I know i speak for Squeaky Clean here also/
i cannot for one minute believe that they would insinuate any such thing either.

Comparing a dental assitant who works with the toxic material daily to someone who just had a few molars filled is like comparing a person who has had a few x-rays to someone working inside a nuclear plant their entire life.
It's not only bad science, but not very empathic considering this woman just lost a child. I've been a brother and close friend to two miscarriages and the emotional trauma before any this nonsense is horrendously difficult. Some woman are scarred for life or even suicidal afterwards.
Your words are nothing but speculation at this point in medical history. Not only that, but responding with your post is an improper use of logic an critical thought as stated earlier.

This is a reply to # 351,717woah! I deeply apologize if I gave the impression that anyone had said anything inapproprate within the posts preceding mine and specific advice given within this thread.
I did not read anything within previous posts that was anyting but helpful. All I recall is simple references to other areas of curezone and the advice that she get them removed, both of which I wholeheartedly embrace.
I was simply attempting to prepare her for anything coming that was harsh.
Unforutnately, I have read a few posts in these parts, specifically relating to mercury fillings which were overly abrasive and emotional. Some people view mercury as the cause for every disorder on the planet and feel very passionatly about their cause.
I apologize again. I was not referring to anything within this thread, just at the other places she may decide to explore *after* reading our words..
Anyway, I am on the same team, I swear! :) If you look closely, you will not see anything within my words that specificaly accuses anyone within this thread as having written words/claims with which I did not agree.

to which i did reply at end that perhaps i was misreading it, and you meant it to be towards any that MIGHT suggest such a thing. *smile*
guilt trips on folks in grief are so mean , one wonders.. at the
intentions or motivations at the callousness of such posters 8(
it is in my opinion a time to answer with words of comfort and knowledge for future goals.
i agree that folks that are over-exposed as in a line of work to those areas/ have a higher risk /
but this woman clearly does not fit that bill at all.
and even if she did , it still would be in extreme poor taste to *bash her* when she has lost a much desired child.
