Hi Johnny - Boy, do I relate! I actually stopped doing enemas for this reason, they just made me feel more toxic, and I figured they were stirring up more tnan my body could deal with at this time, toxin-wise. I am now taking the "less is more" approach so I can give my liver a break and a chance to rally. I feel lots better doing it this way, at least for now. I have discontinued all antifungals, except for Candex, as it is relatively milder, I am watching out for and avoiding allergens, and do feel I am getting better. It seems that for me, allergens and liver woes are what lie behind any candida surges I may get, and when I focus on those issues rather than the candida-kill, I get better automatically. I wonder if there is a point (like now, for example, in my case?) at which candida is no longer the big issue, and the bigger issue is overall health, including bowel and liver, etc. I think the problem with enemas is that before the stool gets flushed out, it first gets forced up and in, and that creates the incredible amount of toxins circulating the body. For now, I am working on the bowels only by pushing from the inside out (eating to make sure I am regular, in other words). I know a liver cleanse is in my future - but the type of cleanse I am not yet sure as my doc and respected forum members have different ideas of what method is best (he says a
Water Fast with light bits of fruit as needed, then after 2 days add veggies - he does not support the olive oil thingy). I do think that antifungals were critical in the beginning, but with 2 years into this myself, it now seems to have shifted to "overall health" being the bigger issue. And I admit - I play too much with stuff I like that I KNOW I would do so much better off of, like coffee, nuts and seeds, the glass of wine here and there. . . sigh.
Are those strands in stool white? From what I understand, if clear, it is intestinal mucus, not candida, correct?
G'luck!
