    Hi Invincible :)

    Hope you had a great holiday in Wales and your kidney cleansing is going well!

    No HCL betaine is hydrochloric acid which is produced in the stomach to digest protein, and also calcium and iron, whereas enzymes are produced by the pancreas to digest protein, fat and carbohyrates. You'll only need HCL if you have a real problem digesting protein and have low stomach acid eg burping, acid problems straight after a meal, candida etc.

    If you're prone to ulcers and have a sensitive stomach I wouldn't take HCL as it can burn....it is acid after all!
