Fascinating. I have no idea why BO would be linked to the kidneys. Maybe he was picking up on the issue for another reason? He's very intuitive that way. I'll check with him, maybe there's something new here I can learn. :)
Internal cleansing IS the treatment for candida, concurrently with diet changes of course. :) So lots of intestinal cleansing, periodic kidney cleansing, and continual liver management by taking herbs and flushing periodically, and continual lymph management, are all very necessary in order to beat candida and acne.
I think most of the diets for candida are too strict. The main rules you absolutely must follow are:
No refined sugar. At the most a single tablespoon of maple syrup or brown rice syrup or molasses a day, preferably not even that.
No diary except for Kefir, as the milk sugars have been changed to lactic acid by microbes that help fight yeast.
No fruit except for one green apple, or pear, or 1/2 cup of berries. Lemons and limes are fine. An occasional grapefruit is fine.
No gluten grains, which are wheat, barley, oats. Only eat small amounts of alternative grains like Quinoa, amaranth, teff, millet. After 2 months you can eat basmati rice.
No eating foods that you formerly ate a lot of - take a 3 month break. For instance, if you ate white potatoes with most of your meals, skip them for 3 months. Switch to yams/sweet potatoes. White potatoes and corn and tomato sauce are typically allergans due to overdosing on them.
No coffee, black tea, fruit juices. Only water, herbal tea, fresh-squeezed veggie juices, cleansing drinks.
Only eat organic veggies and meat sources that are hormone-free, preferably pasture-grazed, free-ranging, as close to their original form as possible. Only eat fresh or frozen or your own fermented. No processed foods, no microwave lunches, nope!
There are tons of lists on the Internet about the anti-candida/cave-men diets but they tend to go a tad overboard. :)
Since you're mainly vata-pitta dosha, you need to eat mostly cooked foods spiced medium heat wise and be sure to include the tastes of sour and bitter in your meals, not just sweet or salty.
Hope that makes sense! :)
