I have been studying this whole PH thing to a large degree lately. Heres candida relevant info in a nutshell:
Fungal overgrowth (i.e candida) is a SECONDARY problem, the first being baddie microbes. Without this first problem candida would not exist. These original 'baddies' are the result of an over acidic system. Protien and fats, taken too often are a main cause of these little F#$@s!
Its not all about starving the candida by eliminating sugars and carbs etc, but going one step further.
Every day I take a step closer to becoming more alkaline and less protien/fat obsessed! A handful of nuts or seeds per day contains all the protien/fats the body needs. I know this is hard to believe. You really would not believe the amount of protien I used to eat (with most carbs, Sugar
etc gone, this was one of the few options!).
You would not die on a high veg diet, but I understand how you would think this - I did!
Remember one step at a time for those that are not naturally head first divers.
A good alkalising product (yes they are usually pricey) will be of benefit even if you habits remain bad.
I am very excited to be starting a super alkalising product called 'innerlife' I think. I researched this product and I am VERY excited about it.
If others are on a similar path we should share recipes. I have not gone fully raw but am eating alot of stirfrys (crispy rawish veg but hot!) with only pesto etc to flavour. Tonights was trully delicious, I did not miss the meat/fish/pasta etc etc.
