I very nearly lost my son to scarlet fever. He also did not have a fever. Also he did not have the "strawberry tongue" either so his doctor didn't think it was scarlet fever. In fact the first three doctors we went to didn't think it was scarlet fever. It wasn't until he was close to comatose that he was finally diagnosed correctly.
Just sharing my experience for what it's worth. More for anyone else out there reading this with a rash following strep throat. Whenever I hear strep throat - rash, alarms go off.
Having said that, your rash doesn't sound like scarlet fever to me, (although I'm no doctor!) more likely just a release of toxins.
