Somebody in this forum posted the info on this book, "Vice Cream" right when it came out, and I bought it directly from the author, Jeff Rogers ("the Naughty Vegan.") He e-mailed me when the book shipped, and I was hoping to ask him a question, but lost his contact info. Does anyone have a web site for him, or can advise on this:
- I made the mocha "vice cream" with cashews and 1 cup maple syrup (I know, it's not raw, but my boyfriend wanted to try that one...). Both the raw recipes (using dates to sweeten) and non-raw (using maple syrup), contain a lot of sugars, and I've got a candida problem. He mentions you can substitute stevia, but 1 cup of maple syrup is a LOT of liquid, and I'm trying to figure out if that liquid has to be replaced with some other liquid or bulk if I'm using stevia as a sweetener, instead. If I can tet this right, I can fool myself into thinking I'm eating ice cream without the carbs. BTW, the mocha came out pretty good, a little gritty, but better than that soy stuff, and I'm anxious to try the ones with fruit and raw coconut in place of the cashews.
