It did kind of resemble that, the head part especially, but no way! I just did a search on Tapeworm
and it said you can only get it by swallowing an infected flea? And then, it lives in the small intestine. You could pass segments of it, but after it dies, it is digested along with food??
CAN PEOPLE GET THEM?
Theoretically, yes, people can get them but they must be infected the same way dogs and cats are: by swallowing an infected flea.

HOW DO WE GET RID OF THEM?
Tapeworms are killed by different medications (Our hospital uses one called “DRONCIT” (brand name of “ Praziquantel”) which is administered by injection or tablet. The Tapeworm
is killed and digested with the pet’s food. It is not passed in the stool later.
Maybe there are different kinds of tapeworm. NASTY!!! We do have two cats, flea/tick-treated, but our house is clean, no fleas. I want to be open to ideas, whatever that was, but I still think it was candida. The rectal itching has stopped (thank goodness for anonymity) but now I have a lot of vaginal itching. The psyllium I've been taking is producing a lot of movements that are full of white bits with a pinkish hue. I'm too gross!!
On the positive side, we've been doing well on our new healthier diet for over a week now. Yesterday I ate lunch with a friend, and had some boxed au gratin potatoes. I used to devour those, but yesterday I could hardly stand a few bites. I also couldn't eat a flour tortilla, which I used to like. These foods had a bad taste that I never noticed before.
Sorry this is so long, but I'm confused about candida. At another forum, a poster told me that candida is microscopic. But here, and elsewhere, people talk about candida being in the form of specks, flakes, strands. I'm confused about rhizomes and albicans. I need Candida 101. =oP
BTW, we also have a one-year-old and a three-year-old, and each child has had some sort of yeast trouble (thrush, diaper area, vaginal) in the past month. We are overrun with this disgusting stuff, even though we've changed our diet, are washing our hands, and staying 'clean'. I'm wondering what I can do for the children/infant as well as myself.
