Buy a 2 litre/quart plastic bucket - million times better than bag.
But a long soft flexible tip - this is essential. The short hard plastic one usually supplied is impossible to use.
Enema kit should come with instructions - but there is an "art" to doing an enema which can only be learnt from experience. Or from my tips.
How long? If "clearing enema" as long as it takes to take-in 2 litres and evacuate (maybe 20 minutes?).
If retention enema - hold for as long as you like (10 mins - 30 mins?)
>How often?
Everyday if you like. But if doing it daily, try to have a normal bowel movement first. Otherwise you could become dependent on enema for moving your bowels.
>Can I end up doing it too much, dehydrating myself?
Its not *dehyrdration* per se which you need to worry about, but electrolyte loss. In theory it is an issue, but in practice I haven't noticed it. To be safe take a pack of EmergenC after the enema.
Enema kit comes with container (bucket or bag - choose bucket) a ruber tube and a tip. Basically you hang enema from somewhere high (e.g. head height), then lie on floor on your back. Lubricate tip (e.g. with olive oil). Insert tip in rectum (and further if you like). Open valve. Water will now flow due to gravity. When finished remove yourself and sit on toilet. Wait to evacuate.
Sorry for pidgin english. Quicker to type.
