Hi Karen!
I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. I'm feeling so-so, but I'm trying some new stuff so we'll see.
Candida can (in theory) be diagnosed from a stool test, but its a very hit-and-miss afair. Especially given the fact that candida is very good at clinging on to the colon wall and not coming out in the stools. My stools test came back -ve for candida even though I have rampant growth in my colon.
The same thing applies to
parasites too. Apparently it can take 10 tests or more for
parasites to show up. So what people suggest is that if you suspect you have
parasites just do the treatment - far cheaper.
Personally I wouldn't take any antidepressant especially if you have been wrongly diagnosed by some muppet as having IBS. IBS is basically the name given to anyone who complains of a belly ache. Its not a condition - its an "I give up" diagnosis. If you have dybiosis "relaxing" your colon by taking drugs won't do you any good.
Yes I get the stringy whites mucous when doing a vingear enema. Basically its the candida reacting to the acid - candida hates acid. Anyway mucous shouldn't be white, and it shouldn't slough-off in big batches. Unless you have candida that is. You can look up pictures/videos of the colon on the web and you will see that the mucous is normally clear/colourless. There are even pictures of candida in the colon where it shows up as white patches.
Orangy mucous I'm not sure (although sometimes mine looks yellowish). When the candida becomes rhizomal it sometimes looks like red/organge tentacles. And you may also get pieces where it has been attached to blood.
Why do you need to be "tested"? You know you have candida? Of course a stool test might be useful - it could tell you if you have other dysbiotic bacteria, how much good bacteria you have, what the state of your digestion is etc. In the UK there is a saliva test available which is supposed to be quite reliable. In other places there might be blood tests. Also many people have raved about something called "live blood microscopy". Basically they take a sample of your blood and look at it live. They can tell an enormous amount about your health - including it seems whether/how much candida you have in your blood.
My advice is to find someone familiar with candida if you can. You probably won't get much luck with orthodox medicine I'm afraid, that is unless they have suddenty woken up this morning and repented over their denial of candida in the non-immune compromised.
JV.
