>Is Xylitol only to be used as a sweetener instead of Stevia (whats wrong with stevia?)
Nothing is wrong with stevia - its just crap as a sweetener.
>or does xylitol aid in actually CURING candida problems?
Yes - if used intelligently. Briefly xylitol is antifungal and antibacterial. The exact mechanisms are not yet fully understood, but it is thought to:
1. Interfere with the adhesion mechanisms candida/bacteria use to fix themselves to your mucous membranes
2. Interfere with glycolysis.
It also helps control blood-sugar and is great for cravings given it tastes as sweet as sugar.
