Hi there,
I think I could help you. The Atkins diet is basically good. Go to www.westonaprice.org/ to get very well-researched and creditable information about "traditional" foods and diets. I recommend a high protein, high "good" fats and low carb diet for Candida; my article explains why. My article at www.nourished.com.au/ Do a search with candida to find my article (Part 2 is first, but go lower on the page for Part 1).
I have also started a new Candida Support Group at:

Canned salmon is "farmed" (you don't want to know how their are raised and what they eat, etc.). Most fish we buy is loaded with mercury, so it is not a great meat to have unless you can buy it mercury-free, etc. Check out www.mercola.com/ and search "fish" and you will find lots of good information.
I took nystatin for 2-1/2 years to get rid of my candida, which I had for over 25 years. I was on a very strict program, but didn't do betonite, cleanses, flushes, etc. I did do some enemas which were very helpful. I believe in a simple "close to nature" approach to the diet but no
Sugar and no grains. My article says why. Only have non-gluten grains (minimal amount) that are properly soaked or sprouted before making it into bread or having it as a cereal. Also nuts need to be soaked as well. My article also explains why grains and nuts needs to be soaked, because of nature putting a protective coat on them so they will survive. However, they are very damaging to our digestive tract. Also grains act like
Sugar in the system. Etc., etc.
The "good" fats are saturated fats, especially butter and coconut oil. Coconut oil is also anti-fungal. Fish is a much better oils than linseed/flaxseed for Omega 3s. Flaxseed oil is very unstable, should never be used for cooking, and goes rancid very easily, even in the fridge. Cooking with saturated palm is good. It is another excellent fat. Fats are very important for digestion because they slow it down and help draw the nutrients out. Fast digestion is not a good things at all. Also good ocean salts are very important for digestion too. Both fats and salt stimulate the digestive juices.
You may write directly to me if you wish. I am not selling anything at all. I'm just a 63 year gal who wants to help people with Candida.
Take Care. Write soonly.
