I read that the salt-to-water ratio is important in that your body recognizes the salinity of the water as being similar and therefore passes it through. My understanding (and I could be wrong about this) is that if the salinity of the water is not accurate, your body may not pass the briney fluid through. Therefore, I would not change the ratio of salt to water.
Of course, if I'm not correct about this, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I am will correct me, and I'll learn something new! :-)
