I've had a "cold" (seems like a cold - it could be some kind if detox but can't figure out the cause if it is) for 6 weeks now and after getting no lasting success with other natural remedies, I've been thinking of trying 100mg lugol's but I'm concerned because of the existing, persistent cold (chest congestion, sinus drainage, sneezing).
Also, I just stopped a 5-week trial of prescription ndt after finding I'm one of the rare folks in whom it actually causes hair loss. My labs from just prior to starting it showed maybe borderline (at the most) hypo although I do have many classic symptoms of hypothyroidism. Not sure if this matters in the context of starting lugol's but figured I'd mention it.
Should I go ahead and start the 100mg lugol's immediately or wait for some reason? Other than taking the companion nutrients, any other tips you can think of to deal with this? I've ordered some sski but it won't be here for another week and I'm really worn out (literally and figuratively) with this cold/congestion. It makes me tired and even more foggy than normal. The last several times I tried iodine, I started low and fatigue, edema & depression kicked my butt and I couldn't make it more than a week. I know 100mg+ is supposed to help avoid/minimize this, but I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance/guidance anyway. Thanks!
