I don't have the gift of tongues but surely someone would know whether they received that gift spiritually or not. I do believe in the gift of tongues, not just because Derek Prince said's so but I believe Rainy, she is no liar, she is very sincere. I have got to know her very well for a long time now and she is truthful and has a kind heart, there is nothing false about her and you should know this after knowing her for so long. If Rainy says the gift is real then I know it is real.
I don't know of any Pentecostal churches that teach babbling is the real gift of the Holy Spirit. This is a lie that is spread about them. All foreign languages sound like babble to those who do not understand them. You believe the lies. You are brainwashed with the lies. Maybe this is what Thorn's Pentecostal cult taught. I would have no way of knowing that.
For the sake of argument, what if it was a real language they are speaking? It's no better than babble because as you are saying, the reason it sounds like babble is because no one can understand it. Like that woman who went on the hell trip, no one in the congregation could understand what she said when she was supposedly speaking in tongues. You didn't understand what she said. Loquat thought he heard something about Ikea. lol
So it's all ridiculous. Accomplishes nothing. All these people with the gift of tongues, and what has it accomplished? Nothing!
1 Corinthians 14:19
Nevertheless, in church I would rather speak five words with my mind in order to instruct others, than ten thousand words in a tongue.
But they'll continue on violating the biblical instructions for speaking in tongues as they have always done, showing they don't really care what the bible has to say about all this. And yet these people who don't care what the bible says about the gift of tongues are supposedly the ones God would bless with the gift of tongues???
And don't come back with the response, "Not me, Not me!" as you always do about this point. I'm talking about the movement as a whole. What is the movement as a whole doing? But even you, though you will say you understand the clear instructions Paul gave about tongues, you'll still tolerate the violation of them as you constantly post those who show no regard for Paul's instructions.
Funny I have never visited one that does not practice this babbling. While we are at it just a simple search of pastors and churches where they practice this "cough cough" gift. Will show they also lack a translator. I will see them preaching and right smack dab start doing some kind of babble for a few words. Where is the translator for this when they do this as instructed by Paul.
Here is just a quick video I found demonstrating the practice. I have seen this same stuff in AOG(Assemblies of God), COG (Church of God), and UPCI to just name a few. If we are not going to follow the biblical instruction then I am going to call it out as false
this video shows the disasterous depths that christianity has plunged into with all their heresies, rebellion, doctrines of men and superstitions. and the whole world has been getting the warning and running as fast as they can from organized christianity. the believers run to the bible and the lord and the unbelievers run to something other than christian, like muslim or atheist or some eastern religion. there are some people gonna have a lot of explainin to do. the antichrist flourishes.
Here's a couple of "conspiracy theorists" who were both in the NAR themselves but are now on a mission to warn about it. The first twenty minutes is more about their personal stories but if you want to skip to more of the meat of the conversation about the NAR I've set the time for that:
Very good and responsible video with many excellent points within the 15 minutes or so that i listened to which began where the link started me. It emphasizes that one of the major problems within that movement is the control and power and i wholeheartedly agree with this. The potential for abuse and the resulting abuse through this power and control is very substantial. I have seen how some of these people operate. The idea of each follower of Lord Jesus needing to submit under one of the so called apostles within their institutionalized church system network and to be under the so called covering of this so called apostle is horrifically false teaching as well as being a form of idolatry, its practitioners turning over a substantial portion of Lordship ("covering") to these so called Apostles - most of whom are false apostles - and to this institutionalized system and its teachings - a false and counterfeit system with many false teachings - rather than allowing Lord Jesus in living relationship to fully be Lord. A true apostle will be a servant, not someone who is greedy for power and control.
Hey LITS. You should touch base with Vekky. She's onto them too. Very dangerous group indeed, and unless you're well-grounded in the faith, it's all too easy to get carried away by them.
Yeah me and LITS should have a chat sometime, might be fun! :) Good to see you Ed and I'm glad you agree with that conversation so far.
Here's another one I'm currently listening to. This is done more in a debate format, so far at least (I just stared listening to it), so I was a little caught off guard at first with how Holly Pivec starts out. I thought it was just going to be more like a conversation, but it should be interesting nonetheless.
After listening to all that Ed, do you see why it's concerning that there are many, such as Michael Brown, saying it is just "conspiracy theorists" giving these warnings about the so-called prophets and apostles who are popping up everywhere? Michael Brown never seems to know what's going on with these "prophets and apostles", he always pleads ignorance, while endorsing them at the same time.
Here is the Golden Sword Prophecy that Barbara is talking about towards the end of that program, given by Carol Arnott. Michael Brown endorses Carol and John Arnott, despite it being very easy to find information about them within minutes which should concern any true believer. On youtube, they have a video where they are praising the Pope and talking about how he is so much like Jesus. I've posted that one before, but here it is again:
If there is ever a huge NAR confernece somewhere, look for John and Carol Arnott. They are often there, along with the rest of the big names in the NAR.
So how can all this just be something made up by "conspiracy theorists"? It's all in plain view for anyone who cares to open their eyes and take a look at it all. It may take a little extra searching to start connecting all the dots, but that's still easily doable.
All that said though, I'm pretty burnt out talking about all this. I run across very few that really care. But that's sad I think considering what Barbara Hansell said in that program, and I believe this is true: "The NAR is made up of thousands of networks, churches, ministries, self appointed apostles and prophets, and individuals with common beliefs and agendas. And as you know, there is no membership but if your church aspires to the teachings and practices of NAR, then you are basically involved and a member of it and if you are believing some of these things and are practicing them, you are a member as well. So basically it is a false movement that is basically taking over Biblical Christianity".
Everywhere I look, people are being taken in by this movement in some way, even some of my own local churches I have been involved with, as well as family members and friends. So in my opinion, I think people like Michael Brown are very dangerous as they keep trying to assure everyone that there is nothing to be concerned about other than these wacko Conspiracy theorists getting all in a wad over nothing. So the agenda is to silence those Conspiracy theorists since they are getting in the way of this amazing movement of the Holy Spirit, the movement that will "throw away the old sword, in favor of the new sword". In other words, the movement that will throw away God's word in favor of the "new revelations" brought by all the so-called prophets and apostles.
To expand upon this a bit, A very significant emphasis of Chuck Pierce and of his following who pay yearly dues of about $600 to become so called apostles within his business organization, is "you need to be in submission under us" and "you need to be under our covering". To me another word for covering the way they mean it is Lordship which actually belongs in full to Lord Jesus and not to these so called apostles. Within Chuck Pierce's structured institutionalized heirarchy, the people in the video accurately compared him to being like the Pope. Unfortunately paying $600 to Chuck Pierce does not really make anybody an apostle, but that doesn't stop these people who paid it from calling themselves by that title and believing it to be so. If all anybody needed to do to become a real apostle of Jesus was to pay $600 to Chuck Pierce, that seems like a really convenient and amazing shortcut : ). But alas Chuck Pierce has merely found a way to very creatively fortify and expand his power and control and that of others... and as an added perk he has made lot of extra money for himself along the way. In his cleverness he has added a special twist to the pre-existing counterfeit institutionalized church system.
As a side note and as a diversion from making it obvious that this appointment to the position of institutionalized apostle is purely about paying $600 per year to Chuck Pierce, it is also required that an aspiring apostle have another like minded supporter of this business model as a reference who themselves paid the $600 to Chuck Pierce.
In this way it is much like a country club where one can only become a new member when an existing member puts in a good word for the aspiring new member, saying, "for he's a jolly good fellow"... "He is completely on board with your business model Chuck Pierce, he is one of us and just the kind of guy you are looking for, someone who is willing to go along with whatever you say".
Of course what i am referring to here is only a sub portion of what is referred to as nar. In reality Chuck Pierce with his "apostolic" business model is the pope only of the portion of the nar movement that he created and institutionalized. He thus created his very own special sub-cult, emphasizing power and control, specifically in the form of preaching submission under him and under his due paying underling "apostles".
The ultimate message here is that followers of Lord Jesus need to Let Jesus fully be their Lord, their foundation and covering in Living relationship with Him and to not allow any business institution called a church, whether nar or otherwise, to take up any portion of Jesus' Lordship in their hearts. The Chuck Pierce submission, covering, and money changer model exaggerates and intensifies what other church system models are also doing, so it's important to be aware not only of Chuck Pierce and nar, but also of other counterfeit, popularized religion as well, institutionalized entities and leaders which also seek power and control, from the catholic church system to the protestant and other non-catholic church systems. It's important with a soft and open heart to very honestly compare what Lord Jesus taught and emphasized against what the mainstream religious system today teaches, emphasizes and presents itself as.
Sounds like an excellent business model to me. Rake it in from as many ppl as possible, and who cares if it's only slim pickings as far as gospel truth is concerned? Oh yeah, we do.
