Did I say racist? I do beg your pardon. What I actually meant to say was RACIST.
I hope that clarifies matters somewhat.
And when you are the object of half as much blind and ignorant racist vitriol as I have been from this 'patriot', by all means come back again and enlighten me as to the true meaning of the word.
I'm quite sure it will be very educational for all of us.
I have absolutely NO IDEA what you are talking about as far as "RACIST" is concerned and I pretty much don't care, either. Morgan Freeman said it most eloquently that "RACISM" will cease being such an issue when people stop talking about it. If you have a problem with what you perceive as a "RACIST," then it's your problem and not mine and I could not care any less about your offensive posturing. It's not my monkey, and it's not my circus.
There are places in Europe where anything can be claimed to be "hate speech," and there is no such thing as a Utopia - people's feelings are going to be hurt as your clearly are. We either ignore it and go on about our daily affairs, or we internalize it and turn it into something personal and give the power over our own feelings and beliefs to words, phrases, and other people. Either way, it's a choice. We either choose to be offended, or we don't.
I have absolutely no interest to "enlighten" you and you don't seem to be acceptable of any other views aside from your own. Just be very cautious about how fragile you allow yourself to be. It's your choice whether or not you will give an unknown individual that you will never meet in your lifetime the power to hurt you. If the person writing hurtful things is being cruel, then it's their problem and not mine. I don't care what anyone has to say about me on ANY site or in my real life interactions. And, I sure as heck don't care if someone views me as RACIST. RACISM exists across the globe and people are either going to get over themselves and their fragile feelings, or they won't.
My my my, what a hornet's nest I've stirred up by my reaction to yet another racist bigot. I don't have the time to respond to every point made in the flurry of posts that ensued, even if I had the inclination, so I'll just confine myself to a couple of salient points raised in yours, if that's ok with you.
The Freeman Quote
So basically, ignore it, and the problem disappears in a puff of smoke? It's all in the mind, or simply a matter of perception. Is that it? This from the country that gave us a civil war over slavery, the kkk and lynch mobs, Little Rock and the LA Watts Riots, an industrial prison complex that disproportionately incarcerates black criminals compared to their white counterparts on a like for like basis, the unspoken declaration of open season on blacks by virtually every police force across the country, and a POTUS who equivocates over the murder of a human rights activist by a racist thug in Charlottesville.
So yeah, I'm really not surprised that trapper, anti-semite in chief, finds succour in this quote from a black actor who made good in Hollywood. But I think you'll find that the propensity to make light of the issue is inversely proportional to the degree that one is either a racist oneself, or else living in splendid isolation from its sphere of malign influence.
No, I'm afraid I have to wonder if the excellent Mr Freeman would be so dismissive of the issue if he had the life experience of, say, one of his own:

and:

While he was the butt of their unrelenting racist jibes, he displayed more dignity in his little finger than all of them put together. Our own Bruce Forsyth (who idolised him) showed him more love and respect in just two hours than he received in an entire lifetime from his so-called ratpack buddies, and while you may well argue that he belongs to a less enlightened era, I'm not at all convinced that attitudes have changed that much since then.
I find it very telling that my own response to a racist bigot is dismissed as offensive posturing while you simultaneously belittle its corrosive effects - not so much on me - but much more so on the perpetrator himself. It dehumanises both parties, but I would argue that tomi is himself by far a greater unwitting victim of his own bigotry than I will ever be. The last time I experienced such racist abuse was in junior school, but I have long since abandoned tomi and his kind in that schoolyard to wallow in a hell of their own making.
This isn't a question of developing a thicker skin. It's a question of basic standards of common decency and respect for others regardless of race, creed, colour, gender or sexual orientation. If I have inadvertantly offended my black neighbour, I would much rather apologise to him than tell him to grow a thicker skin. But then, that's just me. Either we learn to love one another and live peaceably together, or we get the world we deserve, which is quite possibly not that far removed from the one we now share.
As for being impervious to any views other than my own, that shot is a 2-way street. Are you any more amenable to the views I have expressed above?
I could say much more, but I elect to quit while I'm ahead, and before this turns into a PhD thesis.

I do not understand this at all. Curezone is not held to British Law, nor American, nor Iranian, nor Lithuanian. If any poster on any public debate forum expects or demands that other international posters abide by the Laws of their country, they are severly delusional. I cannot even form a response for that type of rank, privileged arrogance. I also do not understand the veiled threats of legal action if a poster fails to succumb to those outrageous demands. So a poster's IP address can be found. Then what? So what? What does one expect to do with that? Serve an international warrant for arrest? LOLOLOL!!!! If a poster is that fragile, then they should grow a thicker skin and accept the fact that Life isn't fair and nobody is that special that they can make such ludicrous demands or maintain such audacious expectations. Then, then should get off of the internet for a while and reassess their personal actions - ALL of them, including enlisting other members to help them in their...........pursuits.
There is real and true racism all over the world. Rwanda experienced the genocide of nearly ½ million people because they didn't carry the preferred identification card. If anyone who is posting on this board has the nerve to compare their fragile feelings with actual genocide beneath the blade of a cheap machete, then they are self-centered, self-absorbed, and they need to stay off of the internet and join a commune where everyone thinks alike, believes alike, dresses alike, and facts are thrown over for fragile feelings.
Each time someone incorrectly uses a term like, “RACIST,” or, “RAPE,” taken out of criminal context, it diminishes the actual meaning of those crimes into something trite and ordinary and it sends out the green light for anyone who is even mildly disordered to join the Professional Victims Alliance. Anyone posting on this board ever lost a family member in a genocide or violent murder? How about actual rape? Anyone? Gang rape? Anyone ever been overwhelmed by a group of teenagers and beaten senseless over $7?
Perhaps, Webmaster will just shut this forum down, at last. Or, better yet, one of you fragile and tender folks can start your own private forum where everyone will agree with whatever the Leader decides is acceptable. Welcome to Jonestown!
