The 'trapperesque' moniker was a reference to the guy in my links, not yours. Chuck's language was civil, and I'm more than happy to count him as one of my own despite being a bit of a bore. Maybe my sleep-deprived state didn't help, so my opinion of him might be a bit unfair. I fell asleep about halfway thru the vid., so maybe I should give him another chance.
Yeah, I know you don't hold to all the (es)scatology taught by these latter-day doom merchants. On the other hand, you are a 3rd Templar, a believer in a revived Levitical Priesthood & animal sacrifices, and a 1,000 year extension of the age of grace following the second advent, all predominantly realized during an earthly kingdom in which Christ reigns in person, yet somehow still ends in a complete fiasco.
Hmm......so basically, not a million miles removed from these false prophets. Still, they are an endless source of merriment for us Finalists, so I can't complain too much. Just make sure you support your local false prophet by sending him loads of your hard-earned cash. You may not agree with his date-setting, but you wouldn't want him to go out of business, would you?
No, I don't, but my quota of quality devotional time is quintessentially quite quiet, subject to the qualification that its quantity is measured in quintets, and that my quietus is still held in abeyance.
Dunno about you being in the minority in this thread or forum. I thought the opposing camps here were roughly evenly balanced, if not slightly weighted in your favour. In any case, yours is almost certainly the majority view across the general Christian population in your country - I would have thought by a factor of at least 3:1 against us, if not much more.
It's hard to say, coz I doubt a census of eschatological views has ever been conducted as such. But in terms of media representation (including even Hollywood), populist pulpit preaching, general Christian culture, etc., any other views are for all practical purposes almost non-existent.
A rare exception to the general rule that the majority are always right.
Instead of pursuing fairy stories in Revelation or getting on trapper's merry-go-round and following him down one blind alley after another, try this just for a change, and give yourself a chance of being 'clued up':
