Tomi: Why you should never take criticism personally... Because the world is full of psychos and mentally unstable people who disguise in the form of sane humans. In most cases you will be criticized or humiliated because of psychological issues that the attacker suffers from and not because you are really bad or defective... The majority of people don't have a high self esteem.
Brave ones who actually have the courage to follow their dreams are a minority.
Most people feel insecure and hate to see others doing better than them.
Ed: Yes this is very insightful and i basically agree with all of it. I also look upon it from a spiritual perspective in that the mockers and scoffers are listening to and obeying the wrong voices, both of flesh and of demons while not hearing and obeying the voice of the Living God.
Tomi: Do you still think you should feel bad when you get mocked?
Ed: I never felt i or any servant of the Lord should feel bad when getting mocked by the hard hearted unrepentant sinners Tomi. My point is that the true servant of the Lord can take practical steps in not getting relentlessly distracted by these mockers so that He or she can more fully stay focused on the Lord's work.
I personally believe there needs to be a balance as led by the Holy Spirit because even the hard hearted may occasionally be touched by the Holy Spirit through one of the Lord's true servants in a way that would cause them to examine their hearts before the Lord and seek to be unblinded and freed from their bondage to sin. But generally speaking i would rather spend a given amount of time helping 10 easy to help open people to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven than 1 hard to help very closed one.
