Hello everyone! First post on this forum but I've spent alot of time here recently trying to find some informations about my adrenal fatigue.
So heres some info about me: i am 27yo, i started having some extreme anxiety and insomnia about 2 months ago before an extremely stressful day. I had one of the typical AF lifestyle profile that ive seen alot here, big working hours, 6-7 days a week training, alot of stimulant like caffeine and preworkout supplements and alot of late night drinking for a couple of years.
So with a couple of research ive found out about adrenal fatigue and decided to order a full hormone test kit after a couple of blind folded supplements tests that ended up doing more harm then good. (Mostly because i was trying al sorts of cortisol lowering supplements during the days when my cortisol was already really low, causing some adrenaline rush in response to too low cortisol)
So my test ended up showing that my cortisol was High in the morning (starting to spike at around 3or 4 am) then low during the rest of the day accompanied with very low DHEA for my age.
DHEA= 5.9 (28-7 for my age)
Cortisol
7am: 8 (3.7-9.5) High
Noon : 2 (1.2-3.0) low
Evening : 1 (0.6-1.9) low
Bedtime : 0.6 (0.4-1.0) low
I also have a High PSA value that i will start investigate soon.
So since I've received the test i have adjusted my supplements accordingly to what i think made sense and i now feel a bit better.
My symptoms are now the following :
-Morning anxiety/depression
- intense fatigue through the day
-able to fall asleep at night but wake up between 1 -3 a.m. Every night and can't really fall back to sleep, feeling wired.
Here is what my supplement regimen looks like.
- 4g of vitamin C (2g of ascorbic acid and 2g from vitamin C complex frop Progressive)
-1000mg of B5
-B100 complex
-Himalayan
Sea Salt morning and bedtime
-Magnesium glycinate 1.5g and zinc 50mg at bedtime
-Ashwagandha 500mg+Relora 250 mg during night when i wake up between 1 and 3 a.m. To help me fall back asleep and decrease my cortisol. Working a bit but not that much..
I recently tried Licorice root at 450mg once during the day to up my cortisol. I ended up with a ton of energy that day but way too stimulated. It made me sleep really badly that night and the nights after.
I also tried Seriphos a couple of weeks ago (when i was having way worst symptoms) at bedtime wich i think made my cortisol drop too low and made me have an extreme adrenaline rush for the rest of the night/day. So im a bit scared to retry it for my nightime cortisol spike now that my daytime cortisol seem a bit more stable.
So i would like to know if any of you have had experience with this kind of cortisol/dhea profile and hear if you have any suggestions for me
I would also like to know if some of you had success with DHEA supplements
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Thank you!
