V: God is the healer. The gift of healing came from him. Therefore he is able to heal perfectly fine without "healers".
E: God has always been the healer so your logic is completely irrational. Since God has always been the healer, perfectly capable of healing anybody He wanted without the help of anybody, at any given moment throughout all of history, it would logically follow that gift of healing was never necessary. By your own logic, it makes no sense when you say that this gift was necessary 2000 years ago, but not now.
But the truth of the matter which actually is rational and which actually does make sense as well as aligning fully with what scripture says about it is that God the Healer (Jehova Raffa :) ) has chosen to include His children in His Kingdom work, something every bit as true today as it was 2000 years ago. People He could heal on His own much more efficiently, both 2000 years ago and today, He chooses (and chose in the past) to allow His flawed children to have an important part in, actually giving "those who believe" the privilege of co-partnering in His Kingdom of Heaven work. If He wanted to do it all on His own, He would have done so, but instead, when "those who believe"... those who have been given authority and faith and step out in it.. pray healings, people are healed right then and there.
These are healings that i believe God was actually waiting for one of His servants to step out in obedience and do what the Lord Jesus said to do which is to "heal the sick, cast out demons...", very similar to the man healed by Peter's prayer at the temple steps whom i strongly believe was never going to be healed directly by God without His children stepping out and co-partnering with Him. I believe there are millions of examples of this today... God waiting for someone to step out in obedience and do what the Lord Jesus said to do which is to pray miracles in His name for these millions of people. You will disagree, but i believe that each time a miracle is prayed and received in Jesus name, Jesus gets the glory and that this is every bit as true in 2015 as it was 2000 years ago with no double standard.
This is very similar to how He chooses to use His holy Angels to participate in work that He is perfectly capable of doing Himself. Out of curiosity, do you also have a doctrine that says God stopped using His holy angels at a certain point because they "served their purpose and were no longer needed once the bible was written"? Do you feel for example that after angel Gabriel met with Mary and the others in bible times that he was able to go into retirement once the bible was written?
V: He does ask us to pray though. So let's pray for people and trust God's answer whatever it is.
E: Since Lord Jesus said to "heal the sick", my prayers for the sick are intended with this very purpose in mind. I fully expect people to get healed (most of the time) and instantly when i say, "be healed in Jesus name" similar to how Peter said, "in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, get up and walk" and the man got up and walked.
I believe that one of the fundamental differences in belief between you and me (and please correct me if i am wrong) is that i believe God has chosen to give His children an important part in His Kingdom of Heaven work and that in many cases, if His children do not do their part, then healings, deliverances and other Holy Blessings that would otherwise have happened will not happen until perhaps another of God's children comes along to release the miracle that God is ready, willing and waiting to extend. I am not saying that God "never" does miracles on His own without the participation of "those who believe", so please let's not get rabbit holed into that.
Another difference in opinion i expect we have is that you likely believe that instant miracles of God like we see throughout the scriptures are extremely rare and that each person's prayers are equally unlikely to produce a miracle of God. I expect this is what you believe since you don't believe in gift of healing, levels of gifting, level's of kingdom authority, levels of obedience, level's of faith, etc affecting the outcome. If you pray for someone, say with 10 out of 10 pain in their back and they don't get healed, i expect you will say, "well i guess it was not God's will", but in most cases if someone with gift of healing prays for that same person a minute later they will be instantly healed.
In such a case, would you conclude that it was not God's will a minute earlier, but that it became God's will a minute later or would you begin to think that maybe it had something to do with the level of gifting God has given to each of the two individuals that prayed or some other factor having to do with each of the two individuals? If the same thing happened 100 times with 100 different prayer recipients, you prayed for each of them and they were not healed, then someone with gift of healing prayed one minute after you and the individual was instantly healed, would you then begin to re-evaluate your doctrinal beliefs about how God has designed this to work and of whether gift of healing really was for today?
There are so many instances of this that it has already been very clearly demonstrated to me over and over that this is how God designed it. So many people have received so much prayer from so many people as well as from themselves, sometimes over many years and have not been healed, then someone walking in the gift of healing (like Peter at the temple steps) prays for them and there is an instant miracle. I don't know how many times you would have to see this before it began to influence your opinion, but for me multiple hundreds was more than plenty.
Another area i expect we disagree is that often something is interfering with a healing miracle and if this thing gets addressed, the miracle will come. Such things as unforgiveness against oneself, against someone else or against God is a primary example of this and unbelief in the way God so often chooses to do things through the prayers of His children whom He has gifted in this way is another very big one (no offense). So as an extension of this, you might pray for a person, again with say 10 out of 10 back pain, they are not healed and you will say, "well i guess it wasn't God's will". but if i pray for this person and they are not healed, i might ask the person if they are willing to explore with me for what may possibly be blocking the healing. I have actually experienced examples of someone not being healed initially, but then they were healed after unforgiveness or self loathing or the idea that "God doesn't love me", or some other interference was dealt with.
