I glorify my Lord Jesus in all things including in every healing, deliverance and Holy Spirit baptism that is prayed to help others towards deepened freedom and true intimate relationship with Him and including in anybody's ability by His Spirit to no longer be slaves to sin. The first thing i do by the Spirit every morning when i wake up, every night before going to sleep and many times in between is thank Him passionately and with all my heart. Having said this once again, i understand that my heart of love and thankfulness towards the Lord will be ignored by you once again and you will act as if it was never spoken. This is how blindness works.
In your ever so rigid attitude against healing the sick and casting out demons continuing to be an important part of the Lord's Kingdom of Heaven work through His true followers, just as it was important Kingdom of Heaven work both in His own ministry and in the ministry of His early followers 2000 years ago as He instructed and initiated, it has made you extremely blind to my heart (and my many words throughout many posts) of praise and thankfulness for my Lord. You are easily distracted from the Truth of what is really going on and you get obsessed with propagating lies. It would help you a lot in becoming more mature in Spirit to really think about something and make sure it is substantiated before you speak (or write) it. You seem to see only that which feeds your obsession (in this case despising gift of healing and all who walk in it) and to be blind to everything else.
Regarding bill johnson, i only mentioned him since you did. He is your obsession, certainly not mine and if you obsessed less on him, you would be able to focus quite a bit more on the Lord and on walking in the Spirit. i have always said i do not agree with all he says. You have continually demonstrated comprehension difficulties with me saying i really enjoy the musical worship at bethel church, not bill's teachings and you have been unable to separate the two which leads you to imagine me as being aligned with His thinking in every way. i believe it's a lying spirit afflicting you that is not wanting you to see and acknowledge the truth in this. In any case, among any mistakes in doctrine i believe bill is making, he does appear to be walking in a gift of healing as are many hundreds of thousands of other followers of the Lord Jesus throughout the planet, and not with 100% effectiveness, exactly as was also true with Paul and the other early disciples.
As another side note about poorly interpreting scriptures in a way that launches people into false doctrine as is the case with what you have done and continue to persist in, there's a scripture you mentioned that says "and all were healed" and you have misinterpreted this and made cessationist doctrine out of it as if it provides a contrast between then and now. I once went to an emergency room with a friend and prayed with 10 different people there over about two hours who all had pain in their body. When my friend tells the story, she says, "he prayed for these people and all were instantly healed" which sounds just like what the bible author said of the early disciples who were serving Lord Jesus and walking in the miraculous in His name. Her speaking these words in this one instance which could easily be misinterpreted and over-applied as you have done doesn't mean people were healed in every instance, every day, everywhere i have gone and this was also demonstrated very clearly in scripture with the disciples inability to help the boy and Paul being unable to heal Timothy, Trophemus and himself.
When you make the next mistake of over-concluding that the disciples failed to heal someone ONLY ONCE EVER "so that Jesus could teach them to rely 100% on Him" (as if they would not already have been taught this) and that thereafter their healing prayers were 100% effective, you assume way too much, way beyond what is written, including that every one of his early followers with this gift was able thereafter to walk 100% in Spirit every time they prayed for anybody. Very creative and extra-biblical thinking on your part.
Why do you feel these early disciples were able to learn this lesson and that every one of them was able to apply it perfectly every time, when you don't believe that anyone today is capable of being so fully transformed in this way? I believe you have built up in your imagination that these early followers of the Lord were special super-christians and that they deserve to be propped up on a pedestal as if the Holy Spirit in them was different and better than the Holy Spirit in the Lord's followers today. Separating them as having something special that the Lord's followers can not have today is a huge part of your foundational errors which have led you to believe many debilitating lies.
When you conclude that Paul's gift of healing ceased during his lifetime, this too is extremely creative as well as extremely extra-biblical on your part. But of course if you start with the preconceived notion that "the gift of healing has ceased", then you would have to get very creative in your interpretation of scripture and leap to extremely extra-biblical conclusions.
I believe that such a thing as Paul and everyone else having the gifts the Lord had given them revoked would be worthy of mention if it actually happened... yet it is nowhere to be seen. It would look something like this: "Jesus gave His followers authority and gifting to heal the sick and cast out demons only for a short while... and then midway through their lifetimes, He pulled the rug out from under them so they lost this authority.". There's another scripture that says "God's gifts are irrevocable" so you'd have to fanagle this away as well in your already very inconsistent scheme of thinking.
One extreme mistake you and other cessationists have made and continue to make which has thoroughly blinded you to the truth and to being able to correctly interpret the scriptures is in assuming that the early disciple's gifts of healing was 100% in spite of the obvious examples in scripture which show this to be false. You use this false assumption and false doctrine to conclude that since gift of healing is not 100% effective in every instance today (while believing falsely against what scripture shows equally that it was not 100% then), that gift of healing today is not real.
As you have said and as we agree, God is sovereign. We don't know all of the factors He considers, all of the spiritual laws He has put in place and in motion, how much spiritual warfare is being waged against the enemy and how this all factors in, including how attitudes and mindsets and such things possibly as unrepentant sin in certain areas of both the lives of the one praying and the recipient play into each unique situation... among many other possible factors.
When one with gift of healing prays for someone to be healed, ultimately there are factors which will sometimes prevent some healings just as these same factors will prevent God from choosing to heal people directly without the prayers of His servants to whom He has given this gift. Let me repeat this because i believe it's a key point for anyone who genuinely wishes to understand the truth about this and is willing to look upon it rationally.
"When one with gift of healing prays for someone to be healed, ultimately there are factors which will sometimes prevent some healings just as these same factors will prevent God from choosing to heal people directly without the prayers of His servants to whom He has given this gift."
Paul who obviously was walking in the gift of healing (as affirmed in malta/acts 28 among other examples) was given a very good taste of the reality that his gift did not bring breakthrough 100% of the time and that ultimately, there are factors known and unknown that sometimes prevented him from praying successful healings.
If you were able to see clearly and to be fair minded and rational, without hypocrisy and without applying a double standard... and if you were able to apply the reality that Paul and the other disciples did not have a gift that was 100% effective in every instance to those with the gift today, you would realize that sub-100% success rate does not mean the gift is not real. But instead, you persist relentlessly in abject blindness in this way to your detriment and to the detriment (in this area) of any you are able to influence.
In wrapping this up, thankfully for the sake of bill johnson, for you and for everybody else, we are not saved based on perfect doctrine. However when doctrine such as that of cessationism quenches the Holy Spirit, it then becomes especially dangerous, possibly even blasphemous (as in blasphemy of the Holy Spirit), very similar to what the pharisees were under when they told Lord Jesus that he was casting out beelzebub by beelzebub and in so doing rejected the Holy Spirit while certainly being completely blind to the reality that this is what they were doing.
I believe your attitudes and actions and blindness parallel those of these pharisees in certain ways and i would encourage you to be very careful about continuing in this course. You have embraced a form of religion which lacks the power of the Holy Spirit - at least in certain ways - and i pray that you will get free from captivity to this enemy stronghold.
