The reason to avoid food, drink and supplements with a 30 min to 1 hour period around the P&B shakes is to keep the
Bentonite from binding the nutrients and avoiding them being absorbed as food.
I remember back when I first checked out Curezone, there were some herbal extract packages being sold as a 'master cleanse'. They reccommended herbal drops to use with the P&B shakes as a way to speed the production of mucous by the intestinal walls.
It's the mucousal production that will determine if you get mucousal plaque out or not, with all the fermentatious gunk along with it.
As far as I can remember, the herbal tincture they sold for the purpose has peppermint, liquorice and several other herbs.
This tea is a good example of an herbal laxative blend (see the ingredients list)

There's alternative options available for bowel cleansing, though P&B shakes are definately one of the mildest. I've used this one alternatively:

Personally I'll say a big congratulations on sticking to P&B shakes for so long, that is real sticking power!
