Nutritionists can be good, but make sure you find a good one...someone experienced and preferably a medical doctor who has an interest in nutrition. That's not to say a non medical nutirtionist isn't any good..there are some very good ones out there. I get the feeling you are in the States. There's chap in ENgland called Patrick Holford..he's regularly in the press/TV plugging the benefits of nutrition over meds. He's done some studies on childrens diets etc which have been quite remarkable. Anyway, he published a book called Natural Highs. An interesting read but you can get much of the info of the Internet if you don't want to spend loads of cash. I digress, I saw him at a lecture a couple of years back he has a colleague called Dr Hyla Cass who is based in the states (west side I think). She might be worth a try or at least she might be able to recommend soemone...who know's.
The injections are interesting...not my favourite pastime but at least I feel as if I'm doing something positive and they do appear to be working to an extent. Best to have a hot bath then do the injections..eases the pain a little which is nothing worse than a mild bee sting to be honest.
Remember all potential cures will take time to work. Not even the strongest prescription meds work immediately...they can take months. So try and be patient. Essential Fatty Acids will take at least a month to kick in for example. They have got to replace all the wrong oils in your brain first!
That said I know how you feel. You just want it to stop and be happy...Hhhmmm, wouldn't that be nice. And it will happen!!
Changing thinking patterns is a hard one. I can be rather sentimental, which is a pain. Have tried meditation and hypnotherapy. All have their place but take perseverance. Got a book on various different techniques which is quite interesting, but don't have it to hand at the mo.
Think you're right about spending loads on unproved cures. Do research and be suspicious until proven otherwise. Plenty of wacky things out there.
Sounds like you have good reason to suffer from depression....childhood experience etc. Take it you have had counselling and tried CBT??
I like the idea of juice fasting, but not disciplined enough. Good for you, keep at it!
Tried a few cleanses...did this odd one recommended by a Mexican healer. Various herbal teas throughout the day. Not sure if it helped or not. Just started liver cleanses. I figure all the anti-depressants have probably screwed my liver. Did the first one last weekend...got a fair amount out...will have to keep going.
I'm thinking of changing my job. Feel the boredom and routine is not helping (been there 14 years!!). Very frightening because I have a well paid position and I know it like the back of my hand. Still 3 years of hating virtually every moment isn't exactly a positive!! Just hope I'm doing the right thing.
Saunas are good. Good and relaxing.
I write too much.!!
