Hi Dr. Jeff. I have been on an anti-candida/yeast diet for three years as I am pursuing natural healing for an autoimmune condition. I have never had issues with my ears until this past spring, six months ago, following a cold. I initially thought it was an ear infection, but antibiotics did not work. Since then, I have felt mucus production in my middle ear which caused pressure on my eardrum off and on. I also hear and feel a crackling in there when I open my jaw to pop. I saw a chiropractor with no luck. I have since had ear tubes inserted, but as soon as I did, I now feel like my head is in a fishbowl whenever I speak. It sounds very hollow. When I invert my head, this is gone. My middle ear is also very irritated/raw and I have an itch/tickle sensation. It's painful. I do feel draining down my Eustachian tube, but the irritation and mucus feelings are non-stop. I have been working with my TCM practitioner to work on the issues, but it still lingers. Does this sound like a common candida thing? Being on the diet for three years, I don't know what else to do. I don't know if I regret getting ear tubes for the pressure. I'm wondering if they could make the problem worse. I need to be independent, but this condition is affecting my ability to function. I guess I'm just looking for additional guidance or advice. Thank you kindly.
