I agree with you. This article gives the impression that vegetarians only eat vegetables when, in fact, they do eat proteins that are not directly from meat. However, don't completely dismiss the article. Even vegetarians don't get all the nutrients that meat eaters get. And, by the way, I am referring to grassfed meat, not supermarket meat. And this is a completely other subject. Not saying go out and eat meat, but be sure that you take a quality plant-derived multi-vitamin/multi-mineral supplement. And that you also take Methyl-B12 separately because a large number of vegans and vegetarians are deficient in B12 that leads to all sorts of problems.
However, having said this, taking into consideration the depleted minerals in our soils, everybody should take a quality overall supplement, even if you eat organic, and I hope everyone eats organic whole foods.
