I have not done any research on this question. I avoided all of those nasty detox symptoms by starting Iodine
at 1/2mg and SLOOOWLY titrating up to 25mg over 6 months. Then I took another 3 months to move up to 50mg a day. I am still at 50mg after 1.5 years and I occasionally bump it up to 100mg.
I follow the Dr. Brownstein Protocol which suggests start small and go slow. It is the Trapper Protocol which advises starting at 100 mg and going up from there. Sometimes go slow is best, sometimes Trapper's is best. If what you are doing is not working for you, I suggest starting over with the go slow approach. Take 6 months to a year and titrate Slooowly to 100 mg, there are a lot of testimonials in favor of Trapper's 100mg++ protocol. For some very sensitive people. there is the "Heel Dosing Protocol." See details here:
http://tinyurl.com/iodine-instructions. Everyone is different so that is why we have the different starting dosages. We all have the same goal-to detox & become Iodine
sufficient. The best approach is the one that works best for you.
I do like Trapppers magnet idea. Everyone who tries it says the Iodine
tastes better with magnets. Also the theory sounds great.
