Hi, Dr. Mccombs
My name is Tj Cabral, and I'm currently on the plan. I first started the plan 5 weeks ago in hopes of finding relief from ibs C, prostatis/Chronic pelvic pain. At the time, i did not know about the blood sugar protocol. In the past, I've had my blood sugar checked and there wasn't a problem, but you and I both know how inaccurate those in office methods of testing can be. Two weeks in to the plan, i decided to cut out fruit, and start the blood sugar protocol, Unsure, if i was hypo or hyperglycemic, or neither, I figured I better play it safe, then regret it later. After about a week or two, on the BSP, my bowels seemed to stop moving as frequently as i would like. I was going once a day, passing slightly hard stool, and constipated. So at the start of the 4th week, i decided to abandon the BSP, and eat fruit. Boom, after two days of no bowel movement, i went 20 minutes or so, after eating a banana. Since then, i have stopped taking the pills, just because i wanted to see truly if i were hypo or hyperglycemic, so for the past couple of days ive been monitoring my bodies response to food. After meals, i don't get sleepy or tired, but i do kinda get more relaxed, and focused. Kinda a euphoric feeling. and if i havent eaten in say... 3 or 4 hours, i don't necessarily get shaky or irritable, but i do get a feeling in my stomach, like my bodies telling me "hey i need food!". and the only time i feel slightly week or sluggish, is after my morning mile run, if i don't eat within 3 hours. The only time i get sleepy after meals is 1) if i eat a really really large meal. For example, chicken breast, rice, fruit, and a salad, in a large portion. (which i kno i knooo is bad, i only eat like this rarely). and 2) if i eat after working a 10 hour work shift, and its like close to bedtime. And i think that may just be because im actually tired from work. and even then sometimes i don't even get tired so its kinda confusing ya know? is there a clear way to know if you are hypo or hyperg? besides paying close attention the symptoms. and do you recommend i just do the blood sugar protocol? just to be on the safe side. also, i do take trace mineral daily. bowels still were not moving regularly.
ps: since i stopped taking the meds, i have been taking this herbal colon cleansing stuff called: Aim herbal fiberblend. which seems to be the only thing that allows me to make regular, healthy bathroom trips. If you have time, check out the ingredients, its pretty popular, tell me what you think of it.
thanks in advance
tj
