Your post about pinworms was very informative! Thanks for sharing your experience & the methods you used to treat it.
Infection with pinworms (& other species of Nematodes - ascaris lumbricoides roundworm, whipworm, & hookworm) is a very common problem for children worldwide.
The reason is that the natural habitat for all species of nematodes is in outdoor soil, where children play, ingest the eggs, & bring them indoors on their shoes, toys, & clothing, thus infecting others.
People who garden, camp, hike, play sports, & other outdoor activites, as well as pets that have access to outdoors, are also susceptible to several types of parasitic infections.
Fleas & ticks are carriers of several types of parasites (roundworms, tapeworms, Lymes, etc) that infect humans. For petowners, it's very important to deworm them for roundworms & tapeworms on a regular basis. And bath them often with anti-flea shampoos, & wash their bedding & treat it with flea powder.
Drug treatment for pinworms & other species of roundworms is covered in these protocols:
Mebendazole Treatment Protocol: http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1564827#i. Dosage info for adults & children is listed in the protocol. It also lists several tips on personal hygiene, house cleaning, changing/washing of clothing & bed linens, etc.
Albendazole Treatment Protocol: http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1566532#i.
Albendazole dosage for pinworm & other roundworm infections: Take 400mg, AM & PM, w/40g fatty meal, for 3 days. If not completely cleared, repeat in 2 weeks.
Disregard the other dosage info in the protocol. It's taken for longer periods for scattered, disseminated, or bodywide infections, which you don't exhibit.
Topical remedies & tips for bathing, shampoo, ointments, & creams, etc: http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1572837#i
Ordering info for the above drugs is listed in the protocols. The animal med versions are very effective & economical. Albendazole tablets can be ordered from evroshipping dot com.
There is no animal med version for Mebendazole, & it's no longer available as an Rx in the US. You can order the tablets from evroshipping dot com.
Since pinworm reinfection is common, especially when there are children in the household, suggest you stock up on a supply of these meds. You can store them in the freezer until you need to use them.
Hope this info helps you in your parasite battles!
Cheers - ICU
