Happy you were paying attention Vektek :.).
If certain calvinists or any other believers understand that rebuking believers who are in unrepentant sin is something God would lead those who follow HIm to do (among many other things He would lead the believer to do if only the believer would not block this out as a possibility), then i am delighted.
I disagree with a statement such as "don't worry, God has this covered and He wouldn't use you to have a part in carrying out His will" or "He doesn't need you to rebuke somebody or pray a miracle healing for somebody, or bring food to the poor, He will do it Himself"... and i believe this to be an extremely limiting and damaging attitude throughout the body of Christ, a rampant and debilitating disease which serves only to greatly weaken the body.
Rebuking of course is something to be very careful about because somebody with a beam in his own eye should not be rebuking somebody with a speck lest he be a hypocrite. He should first take the beam out of his own eye so that he can then more clearly see to help his brother with his speck. As demonstrated by the Lord Jesus, rebukes are best reserved for those who are spiritually blind, but believe they can see perfectly... those who are hard of heart, stubborn, and perhaps puffed up with head knowledge on top of it all while neglecting the heart relationship with God.
Somebody not abiding in Christ and not living as a branch attached to the Vine has very little business rebuking others and operates as a hypocrite when he does. Lord Jesus speaks exceedingly more clearly to those who do abide in Him and this obedience actually activates their spiritual ears (while disobedience makes them very hard of hearing) and He leads those who obey Him to rebuke as a part of the overall work He has for them to do within His kingdom, which includes abundantly more beautiful and exciting work than just the occasional rebukes including loving and encouraging people towards Lord Jesus, praying miracles into their lives, counseling and discipling them towards deepened intimacy with the Lord Jesus, helping them to die to flesh and live by the Spirit, etc.
Responsibility in the Kingdom of Heaven (while living as disciples of the Lord Jesus on Earth now) is like in the parable of the talents how the faithful servant with 11 talents (5+5+1)is entrusted with far more than the unfaithful servant who has 0 (1-1=0)... and the one with 11 is entrusted with more responsibility now than when he had 5, but not nearly as much as in a future day when he will potentially have 20 or 200.
Peace and blessings to all.
