I'll be as brief as I can. In March of this year I was struck down with fatigue and shortness of breath. A chest x-ray revealed pneumonia and I was given three rounds of
Antibiotics (something I'd never taken before). The pneumonia subsided but my shortness of breath did not.
A couple of months later I was hit with an uncontrollable shaking all over, a shaking which did not subside until a two week course of nystatin managed to confine it to just the legs.
Three weeks ago, following a large amount of money spent and after seeing nearly every doctor in the country, I finally saw one who diagnosed me with candida within minutes of meeting me - something I'd already suspected but never stuck with.
Since then, following his recommendation, I've been on a very strict candida diet (not a single slip-up), a more powerful nystatin powder, l-glutathione, Adrenavive II (an adrenal support supplement), Candiclear (a candida supplement) and selenium. Following a
food intolerance test I added in 5-htp and rhodiola.
Other supplements I've added on my own initiative include milk thistle, molybdenum, magnesium citrate, vitamin c, vitamin b complex and a multivitamin. I've also included
Epsom Salt baths and oil-pulling.
I was also advised to have my
Amalgams removed but the dentist I consulted with refused to do it because of my shaking. A urine test did indeed show a slightly elevated mercury level in my system but nothing major.
I don't doubt I've got candida and adrenal fatigue given the condition of my tongue and from what I've read of others' experiences but I have not experienced any die-off from this routine or seen any improvement.
My worst symptom is the extreme restlessness. The pain is difficult to describe but it's sort of like a constant electric shock being sent through my system, causing me agony. There's nowhere on my body that I can point to and say "it hurts there" but I've spent many nights screaming with the pain running throughout my body. It's worst when I'm lying down and I haven't the energy to be walking about. It'll be of no surprise that this causes me insomnia. This is a symptom I haven't read described by any other candida sufferers. I'm reliant on painkillers and valium to get me through these episodes - two things that merely mask the symptoms and I'd rather not be taking but find it impossible to cope without.
I'm not looking a quick, overnight cure - I'm prepared to spend years on this diet if necessary. I'm merely seeking a way to get through the day without this agony in my system. Even to get to the point where I can lie down and watch tv, with the ill-feeling and fatigue, would be absolute luxury.
Any ideas on what's causing the pain/restlessness would be very helpful. I've had an MRI of the brain which revealed nothing. My throat feels constricted with constant throat clearing and difficulty swallowing. I haven't taken one normal, unrestricted breath in six months. Haven't worked, exercised, been out, watched tv or read a book in all that time. This has destroyed my whole life.
Please offer some advice.
