The key point, to get away from talking about oxidation only, is that the cell walls stay mostly fully intact with the Norwalk.
That is its dual purpose, detoxification via intact cell walls.
Note how you can use the Norwalk to juice grass (not recommended) and freeze it to use for the next 6 months because of intact cells.
I don't juice much anymore, I am with the Book 'Eating Alive'. If you wanna juice and live in Canada then join the snowbirds in Palm Springs.. Your kidneys cannot take raw juice when you should be eating whale blubber..
This is BTW a simple test, buy Chlorella like PRIME and then some other same species with fully crushed cells.. Use Chlorella for a couple of days then switch, you WILL know what I am talking about..
Thanks, so I guess my old Champion is good enough even without buying the additional press since I don't have cancer yet. No way I would spend $2500, the dam juicer would out live me.
2 cups of organic wheat berries (grains) or other whole-grains
Spring or filtered water.
Step 1 - Sprout the grains
Soak the wheat grains (berries) for about 8 hours after washing them well and discarding any dead, broken or discoloured berries. After the period of soaking, keep the berries damp but not wet. Rinse them 2-3 times per day. The berries will take about 2 days to sprout 1 cm, depending on the temperature, their quality, the water you use and other factors.
Step 2 - Make the rejuvelac
After the grains sprout about 1 cm, put them in a container and just cover them with spring or filtered water. Keep the container in a quiet dark place. After two days, pour off the first batch of Rejuvelac. You may need a sieve. Drink it immediately, or store it tightly capped in the fridge.
Add fresh water to the soft seeds so they are just covered, and after a further 1-2 days pour off your second batch. You can repeat this process a couple of times, with each batch getting weaker, sourer and more insipid.
The second and subsequent batches of rejuvelac sometimes have a white bubbly scum on the surface. I scrape it off and throw it away, and it doesn't seem to affect the drink. Check the smell, and of course if there is the slightest sign of blue / green / black mould throw the whole lot away.
Warmer temperatures in summer will decrease the fermenting times by as much as a third.
The video below is where she talks about REJUVELAC.
I'm not aware of any real scientific studies showing that blending destroys an exact percentage of nutrients. You could argue that a Vitamix type juicer breaks down the seeds and fiber so much better that you are getting nutrients you never would have before. What about all the nutrients and fiber lost in the Pulp when juicing? And once blended the fiber protects against further oxidation. Try to juice something soft like a banana for example. You can't.
When juicing you want to stay away from large amounts of fruit because you will get a sugar spike from all the sugar. Blending in fiber will regulate the absorption of sugar.
Most vegetarians use a Vitamix over any juicer.
I might be going through a temporary fad but I have been using my USA made Vitamix 99% more than my juicer since I bought it. It's more of a meal replacement. Juicing is more of a supplement. If you are sick and can't eat whole foods a juicer is what you need.
Just the fact that somebody would dare to put an exact percentage on nutrient loss does seem suspect and as a poster higher up pointed out he does come off as a bit of a know-it-all douche bag.
Perfect video with a good variety of opinions. I also learned I can make banana ice cream with my Champion in that video.
