It's been 11 years since you posted your gallstone routine of supplements & I'm new here, having endured an acute cholesystitis attack & overnite hospitalization 6 weeks ago. I've felt fine since the day I was discharged but was to to eat NO FATS OR OILS which I learned is not the correct. Thankfully, the surgeon is booked until the end of Feb 2017 so I had the luxury of learning a lot & will avoid surgery if I can figure out the best alternative treatment program. I will not do a flush as some of my stones are calcified and others are too big and might block the common duct. By following surgeon's edict, I've lost weight which is great, but I wasn't eating any fat at all for a month until I saw an ND who suggested I begin eating avocado daily. I've been doing that but know I need to do more. She suggested a couple of supplements but both say "do not take if you have kidney or gallbladder disease" so I haven't taken them. There seem to be many "combo" gallbladder supplements yet you list separate ones so I'm trying to figure out what to take. I have not read yet of taurine but find that interesting. They also saw kidney stones
on the imagining which was no surprise as I had kidney stone
(open) surgery 40 years ago at the age of 22 so my system was screwed up long ago, but no kidney stones
since except for passing 27 tiny stones a year before my recent gallbladder attack. Thankfully, I saved them so just had then analyzed & was shocked to learn they are 80% uric acid & 20% calcium oxalate - the stone removed via surgery 40 yrs ago was calcium oxalate. When I passed those 27 stones a year ago, I began drinking loads of water with fresh lemon juice daily. My blood tests last month when in hospital showed perfect uric acid levels so I can't assume anything at this point & because they saw another cluster of small stones in same kidney that had stones 40 years ago, I'm not allowing them to do anything as I assume those too will eventually pass. But because of kidney stones,& the obvious tendency to make them, I need to be careful. For years, I took ascoribic acid to tolerance when well and ill so I know how much good C does but now wonder if taking all that C caused those uric acid stones…I doubt it but I'm so confused now and scared to start taking supplements that may or may not cause me to have another gallbladder attack. My fear is that some or all of the recommended supplements could cause the gallbladder to squeeze so hard that I end up with another attack in in hospital again. The walls of my gallbladder were also thickened by not horribly. "Mobile" sludge was also seen. I am currently drinking 70 oz
of water with the juice of 1 lemon daily & have added a bit of avocado a couple times/day. No further attack…yet. I would love to know how you've faired over the past 11 years since posting! Thank you & sorry this is so long!
