" have some
Lugol's - I want to try to help a cat with a fungus infection and apply it topically, perhaps *cut* with some sweet almond oil in order not to dry out membranes."
-I wouldnt use
Lugols on a cat this way, unless it is a small spot. I sometimes use
Lugols 5 % straight on my cat; after a tick bite or after a cat fight. Make it grow really fast. He likes it too.
To combat a fungus infection there are better options. First of all give
Iodine internally; one drop per bowl of water (half liter) is the standard in my house.
I also have a tiny pinch of borax in it, this is even more a fungus fighter than iodine.
If to treat a larger area for fungus externally I would mix borax 4,5 % in water water and a few drops of iodine. apply, let dry, no rinsing. The cat will get quite an amount as it will lick this off, so if doing it I wouldnt add any extra to the water.
