Hi, I heard only good things about dr. bonners peppermint soap, peppermint repells everything you want repelled. I buy a lye soap like my grandmother used to make and add peppermint oil. I am trying to find a good cleansing alternative to soap. I don't really like using soap or shampoo because of the dermal absorption. If I can't eat it, I don't like to put it on my skin or clothes, so far I found strained lemons juiced mixed 50-50 with vinegar is great for cleaning house laundry, body and hair, it is even supposed to be good for cleaning rugs! A holistic vetrinarian had great success with a recipe of using straight strained lemon juice mixed 50-50 with vinegar with a few drops of tea tree oil as a prevention and a natural rinse for dogs to keep them flea free, for a dog or cat the vet said do not rinse the lemon juice/vinegar/tea tree oil. The vet said you will see fleas jump off and run away from a pet that has this rinse. LOL.
Since I am on a lemon juice fast I researched lemons and vinegar and found its been used as a natural human hair wash, bath, soap, hair rinse, RINSE off with water from human body. And I found a lot of people use lemon/vinegar for laundry and vinyl floors, counter tops and other non wood surfaces. I add a few drops of essential oil to the straight lemon/vinegar. So far straight strained lemon juice mixed 50-50 with vinegar cleans great. ACV, apple cidar vinegar & lemon for dark clothes, white vinegar&lemon for white clothes.
