Kala,
I am unsure as to the difference in the Black Strap & regular molasses, but I would like to know, as well. Maybe someone will enlighten us on that. I have some I purchased from the Mennonites in KY. I ordered some from MH that I am looking forward to getting any day now. The reason I got some from him is b/c I purchase alot of things from the Mennonites in KY & some Amish here in TN but on one of my trips to KY I accidently walked in on them, (the mennonites) pouring maple syrup into mason jars via a huge commercial barrel they had purchased from some company & now I have doubts as to where their so called "natural, organic" syrup is really from. They also had big barrels of honey they had purchased from some company that they put into mason jars labeled that they themselves harvested it, when,in fact I now know they did not. Now all I purchase from them is their fresh produce that I can in fact see growing in the fields. If I were you & I wanted some I'd get it from MH. He doesn't get alot so order quickly. It's good for lots of things but I use it in my lemonade & other things that may need a sweetening. I will say this, my cousin had some Black strap & the smell turned my stomach, I don't know if it was just me but I swear I could smell iron. It reminded me of the smell when a deer has been run over & lots of blood is all over the interstate. I may just be a nut but I hate the smell of blood, I think I smell iron but it may be something else. I have an extremely sensitive sense of smell though, the more I clean the old body the more sensitive it seems to get. It can cause me to vomit instantaneously. I have the same problem w/ sight as well though. I can not watch that show "fear factor" - one time & throwing up was enough for me! Sorry for getting off the subject - I tend to be ranting today.
Best Regards,
Kimber
