This survey is aimed at people who flushed at least once. If you have never flushed, you should not take the survey.
How safe is the liver flush?
How effective?
For who? Are there people who should not flush?
So far, all we have are personal testimonies. But, is that the real picture? Is our picture deformed? Are we counting hits and forgetting the misses?
Are there many people not reporting problems they encounter with the flush?
Are there any major health risks associated with a liver flush?
How effective Liver Flush is?
How many of those suffering from allergies are cured? How many of those suffering from eczema are cured? Psoriasis? Gallstones? Acne? Heartburn? Frozen Shoulder? Digestive disturbances?
How many times do they have to flush to achieve results?
Is there a difference between women and men, when it comes to risks? When it comes to results?
Is there a difference between people of different age?
Is there a difference between people of different ethnic background? Body weight? Height? Eye color? Hair Color? Education?
How about climate? Does climate affects results? Latitude? Are results different for different latitudes? How about Religion? Diet? Do dietary preferences affect results?` Altitude? Level of physical activity?
There are hundreds of unanswered questions. But, those questions could be answered through Internet survey. Help us understand the flush.

By design, this survey is "Open" survey, meaning that you can enter the survey at any time later, and answer questions added later or, if you wish, change your earlier answers. If your earlier answer was: "I flushed 5 times" ... later you can update it into "I flushed 10 times".

At first 'once over', I would suggest the following questions be added. The answers to most of them would be required by anyone attempting to 'get to the truth of liver flushing' and determine how effective a Liver Flush truly is:
--Did you complete a thorough Bowel Cleanse BEFORE doing liver flushing?
--If you did, did you attain the goal of 2-3 bowel movements daily before flushing?
(obviously, without knowing this, there's just no way to ascertain the "results" of the flush...i.e. stones coming out days later mixed with fecal matter that weren't in the 'count'; sickness due to reabsorbtion of toxic bile left in the colon for extra hours/days; total ineffectiveness of flush due to clogged 'pipeline', etc)
--Do you do/take coffee enemas? regularly? sporadically? only the day of the flush as part of the 'recipe' (Dr. Kelley's)
( Liver Flush results can be drastically affected by doing/not doing coffee enemas)
--What is your daily intake of pure water?
--Describe your diet. (percentages here? raw; organic; veggie; fruit; meat; dairy; fresh juice - soda pop? nutrasweet? coffee/caffeine? hydrogenated fat? fast food?)
--What Rx meds were you taking when you flushed?
--What other natural healing herbs or protocols were you doing when you flushed?
(without baseline knowledge of these things, one cannot determine why or why not a flush was effective and whether or not the condition reported after the flush were related to Liver Flushing or to something else)
This is a GREAT idea!!!! I'm rushed for time here, or I'd offer more suggestions; hopefully I can get back to this soon.

Question #10: Have you ever gotten no "stones" on your flush? If yes, how many flushes did it take?
It's not clear what this question refers to. Do you mean how many flushes until stone free, or if there was ever a flush that produced no stones even though you were not stone free, or - like in my case - that the first several Liver Flushes with one recipe yielded no stones, even though I wasn't stone free. Maybe you should break this question up into three questions like:
Did you ever get no stones on a particular flush but got stones out on a subsequent flush? (I.e. had a "failed" flush)
Have you become stone free? If so, how many flushes did it take? (This is what I think the original question refers to)
Did you have one/several flushes when you first started flushing that yielded no stones before you started getting stones out? (Like for me, 6-8 HC flushes that produced no stones until I switched to Andreas Moritz recipe)
Question #22: What other remedies/therapies do you use in conjuction with Liver Flush? Have you done anything before or after a liver flush?
This is not clear. It's a double question, avoid those. What am I answering? No, I don't regularly do any of the other remedies/therapies, but I have done something before or after a flush occasionally, yes. Break it up into two questions, or rephrase it.

I don't agree with surveys because however carefully they are worded they give misleading results based on norms and averages.
I think it is important to ascertain why people want to undertake and liver/gallbladder cleansing procedure in the first. This greatly influences the type of preparation, recipe, side effects, after-effects, duration and maintenance of the procedure. Some of the categories of why people flush are as follows:
1. As a tonic for good health and vitality or as part of a general healthy regime.
2. To relieving a chronic condition such a Fibromyalgia, IBS, Acne, allergies, etc.
3. To decongest the liver after years of excess
4. As cure a specific diagnosed condition of the biliary system.
5. To end undiagnosed misery of biliary pain and a decongested the liver
6. As a cure major life threatening illnesses like cancer and HIV.
Both the practical and mental approach to addressing these six categories is very different and consequently the experience of any one individual is limited and bound to give rise to conflicts within the statistical conclusions of the survey. I biliary pain is the driving force then putting up with any resulting nausea is a minor inconvenience. When using Liver Flushing as one part of a broader programme such as IBS greater preparation is needed and unexpected side effects are more likely.

I think some of the suggestions must have been implemented by the time I took the survey. I found it quite helpful so see that many others answered as I did on certain questions which gave me some reassurance.
One point on the wording. I have had some negative side effects as the result of the flush which were only temporary. For example I routinely have allergy attacks and bad skin immedimately following the flush but they go away in a day or two and the condition as a whole improves.
I was also a bit thrown by the size and volume of stones. I don't collect them but I do look and approximate the size, volume, etc.
All in all I applaud your initiative (and time spent which I'm sure must be substantial). I think a survey can be quite valuable especially to those who want to know what to expect, as long as we realize that it is not scientific evidence and that is has a high degree of human error.- Re: I need your help! plzchuckle

This is a reply to # 181,286First off, I think asking our sexual orientation is a bit too personal, and totally unnessecary. And hair/eye color is just silly, there aren't going to be differences in results in blue eyed vs. brown eyed people.
Some of us are spatially challenged, and don't collect the stones. I don't know the volume of the stones I flushed out, but I know how many, I counted them. So a question with a stone count would be good.- hair & eye colour is important in su... #33901

Hair & eye colour can give some indication of the body's constitution.
From an ayurvedic perspective, light hair & eye colour in relation to one's ethnic background is a sign of higher amounts of Pitta dosha in the constitution. Pitta people are more likely to form liver and gallstones.- Ahh I didn't think about ayurvedic ... #47594 14 years ago 1,466

After taking the Liver Flush survey, I noticed some "missing pieces" in the questions where I could not give a proper answer.
Diet - there was no option for a lacto vegetarian. We eat plant foods and dairy, but no eggs. I selected Ayurvedic diet in the survey as that is what we follow primarily. Ayurveda does allow meat eating, but encourages a lacto vegetarian diet.
There was no ability to clarify on the survey. Eggs are thought to be a trigger for gallstone formation. It would be interesting to know if there are more liver/gall stones among vegetarians who eat eggs, versus those that do not.
Vaccines - there was no option to select the smallpox vaccine. This has been discontinued, but many of us are of an age when the smallpox vaccine was given close to birth. Also, some of us had measles, mumps, chicken pox and rubella as children. There is no need to be vaccinated for these if you had them. I did not see a selection under the vaccine question to indicate that I had already had the disease and therefore did not receive the vaccines. These are Pitta type diseases. liver stones are affecting one of the primary seats of Pitta, in the liver. I would be curious if people who had measeles mumps etc tend to have more stones or a tendency towards gallstones/ liver stones .
Religion - there are many selections for the various sects/denominations for the judeo-christian-islamic faiths, but Hinduism is lumped together as though it were a homogenous religion. Nothing could be further from reality. A Saivite Hindu will have a different worhship style/spiritual practice/culture/diet from a Vaishnav Hindu, or a Sakta Hindu or a Smarta Hindu. Area of family origin also affects this, eg, if one is East Indian Hindu, non-East Indian Hindu (yes, the Sanatana Dharma left India thousands of years ago and there are millions on non-East Indian Hindus on the planet) or mixed Indian.
Just a few suggestions for the next edition of the survey.
