I am sorry I do not know the answer to your question, but for your severe muscle cramps, I do have something of great help.
I also have severe spinal stenosis (central and side) and parasthesia and great back degeneration. Doctors said I should have laminectomy of three lumbar discs but I am afraid.
I do though pretty frequently have muscle cramps and charlie hoses since my condition worsened and the parasthesia started voer a year and a half ago.
Lobelia is a miracle worker when these hit.
I use herbpharm lobelia tincture..rub into the leg or where the cramp is liberally and also take about 5-15 drops internally.
Almost always the intense cramping goes away within a minute, though a few weeks ago I had one that took more than one application of the lobelia to the external cramping site..maybe 5 minutes but that one was particular severe
I have used it hundreds of times and have yet to see if fail to stop the cramp.
It is the greatest anti-spasmodic herb there is and so important that it was the only herb Dr Christopher, the father of modern herbology, devoted an entire chapter to just this herb in his book School of natural healing.
You want to be cautious not to take too much of it as common names for this plant include vomitwort, pukeweed, and emetic herb. In higher doses it can make you vomit.
Although I once took an entire 1 or was it 2 ounce bottle trying to cure what I th0ought was asthma at the time and was unable to vomit and had to take ipecac to try to vomit as was told by an herb company it one did no vomit at that high dose, I could have heart damage or something like that and then the ipecac also did not work.
Poison control advised me to go to the ER luckily on the way I finally vomited but still went to er and let me tell you they treated me like I was insane and it was sort of humiliating I have since found out from a healing mentor that he gave an ill person 8 ounces and they were unharmed and I should not have panicked but in these smaller dose never had any harm.
The signature property of this herb is it kind of makes the back of one's throat feel scratchy
