just wanted to reply BORIC ACID suppositories works great for yeast infections... but you need to be super careful because it can cause dermatitis (inflammation) of the skin. I recently used boric acid suppositories (600 MG at bed time every night for 14 days, than slowly tapered off an additional 14 days)
got rid of the yeast, no BV either
but it gave me dermatitis... and inflammation. After a MONTH of being off boric acid Im just finally starting to feel better.
I would definitely suggest this product as my OBGYN recommended it to me to help with BV
= Fem-Dophilus. You take 1 fem-D in the AM and 1 in the PM
its clinically proven to help with BV
I have even used them vaginally in the past with no problems.
its made by jarrow. Its a much different probiotic because it only contains 2 strains. Lactobacillis Rhamnous and Lactobacilis Retueri. Both are naturally found in the vagina. If you google it you will find research papers using this.
for yeast infections there is a suppository product called YEAST ARREST by Vitanica which is helpful. It contains boric acid, and its not as irritating as the Boric acid vaginal suppositories that have to be made up by a compounding pharmacy.
I wouldn't douche unless directed to. As douching can take away your good bacteria along with your bad.
but definitely check out those two products. Or talk to your GYN about having an RX for boric acid suppositories from a compounding pharmacy. Just be careful. Because it can cause skin irritation. On BUSTLOUNGE another boric acid user developed eczema after using boric acid. Although she had to use boric acid for a few months because she had 3 strains of non albican yeast. I only used it for 28 days. Typically it should really only be used for 10-14 days
