Actually, yeah, you're right. I found out about the Primal Diet in late 2009, and I started eating grassfed raw beef whenever I could get ahold of some. I had to go 120 miles to get some though, so sometimes people headed back my way would get some on the way back.
Then, I found out that the local Von's sold "Organic Prairie Grassfed Ground Beef 85/15" and I was eating about 50% that and 50% conventional ground beef. Eventually I was eating only that kind of ground beef, the organic grass fed.
Later on my hypoglycemia got worse, and from about December until February, the ONLY thing I ate was that 85/15 grassfed ground beef. I had to stop because of protein overload. It was straining my kidneys and my body was rejecting it. I could not swallow it. At this time I was eating about 3 lbs of this beef every day. Way too much.
I became hypoglycemic reactive to grassfed raw dairy, including butter, last summer, so I had to stop eating that as fat. I really had no fat source.
In February, the butchers from Von's started selling me the beef fat trimmings, and I've been mixing that with conventional (Von's brand "Rancher's Reserve" 80/20) ground beef since.
You eat the regular store bought grainfed meat raw? What brand exactly?
Last year I tried the Von's brand beef, beef stew chunks, raw and I got "food poisoned", so I got hesitant to try more grainfed conventional beef.
I also had a bad reaction to a cut of grassfed "top round" beef from WholeFoods earlier this year. I made a post about it. I got "food poisoned" from it, and about two days later I went through bacterial meningitis. MAN, IT WAS PAINFUL AND ROUGH. Paralyzed in pain, high fever, etc. I didn't go to the hospital or take any drugs or anything. I just ate that Organic Prairie ground beef raw, and drank water. Took me several days to get over it, and the peak of it was about two days long. Aajonus Vonderplanitz says that meningitis is spinal cord detox. I believe him.
I don't think bacteria is the issue at all, but I am hesitant to go through more detox due to my current levels of exhaustion.
You are right about raw being superior though. When I was eating raw, my blood Sugar
would raise within 5 minutes. It would also give me a lot more energy. The cooked meat on a good day takes 10-20 minutes to start fully raising the blood sugar, and it has less energy in it. I feel sluggish on it. When I first went back to eating cooked in February, I was going through a lot of panic because the lowered amount of energy felt like hypoglycemia at first.
So yeah, I'm definitely willing to try conventional grainfed full-of-poison meat raw again, if it has been working for you. What brand exactly are you eating? Also, I react to all dairy, including grassfed raw butter, but to be honest, I haven't tried non-raw butter in over a year and a half. Maybe I'll do fine on it. What brand you buy?
By the way, I live in southern California. How about you?
