As most of you know, supplements in the US are unregulated. I asked my allergist about this and he said that the supplement industry has a powerful lobby in DC that keeps them from coming regulated by the FDA. But what I found interesting is that that same allergist said that if I wanted to find out how effective an herbal supplement was to go to a German website. He said in Germany all supplements are regulated by the government....and thus herbal mfgs cannot tout the benefits of a supplement without clinical proof that it does improve ones health.
