As far as the Mayan thing, I think the Mayans were good astronomers and could calculate the movements and behavior of the planets, their orbits and possibly the magnetic effects on each other, but I don't think they had any insight into the sun's behavior or life span. Neither could they have known how humanity would so severely weaken the earth beginning with the industrial revolution, sucking the oil out of the earth, HAARP, the Gulf oil spill and the like. So whatever the Mayans calculated as to a time line for disaster/change, the modern lifestyle of humanity has made their calculations obsolete and shortsighted. I'm cynical about THIS YEAR, forget the Mayans. Solar and volcanic activity has increased THIS WEEK. Mount St. Helens has had seismic activity about ONE DAY AGO. China had solar activity about ONE DAY AGO. Magnetic pole shift activity is receiving more attention (somehow calculated to be somewhat extreme March 15).

As far as the "thugs" issue, even before there was a C.I.A., U.S. intelligence agencies (since the civil war), always gathered "intelligence" from all over the world in order to "control". Years ago, a C.I.A. official testified to Congress that, all summed up, the C.I.A.'s job is to simply start trouble in each country that they operate in (have any interest in)...in other words, their job is to BE THE CAUSE of change in the world....whatever that "change" may be, they must be the CAUSE in order to [be the] CONTROL (international narcissism).

I admit I was being naive in thinking that they could leave the Egyptian people alone.
