I have been away for some time; traveling around the eastern part of the world. Packed lightly, took a holiday from my supplements; but of course I had
Lugols with me, just in case + a couple of other remedies.
This was the first time in Thailand since starting iodine, and I noticed several changes;
After a few days I woke up with a well known pain (food poisoning) in my stomach, followed by the runs. Have had this a few times in my life, and usually it would take a day or two before it was over.
I took 3 drops of
Lugols in a glass of water, no food or vit c or anything; just plain Lugols. Planning to do this every hour that day.
After two hours I stopped as the pain was gone, no more running to the bathroom; digestion worked like clockwork rest of the trip. I am amazed how fast it worked!
Mosqitoes are a problem down there, too; and they didnt leave me alone until I used a mixture of borax, water,
Iodine (that I made for the itching; works very well and took the swelling and inflammation within hours)
and on top of this I used a few drops of magnesium oil.
My travel partner didnt quite believe it would work and used common repellent. We both got only 2 bites that evening; compared to 10-20 the night before when we didnt use any.
Since starting
Iodine my hair structure have changed. With +30 C and a 80 % air humidity my hair used to be a frizzy mess when travelling here; this time it stayed nice an sleek and I did not have to wash / style it more often than at home.
Sun tolerance is also very different from what it used to be; I am a touch of redhead and the sun used to be of concern of mine.
This time I used a little sunscreen on my chest and shoulders the first 3 days, then nothing except my homemade bodylotion; aloe gel, coconut oil, and a few drops of
Lugols and essential oil. No burning, got a nice tan and no peeling when I came home.
I also ate / drank a coconut or two daily; as I know the Thai women has great skin that do not seem to be marked by the years and the sun as us westerners.
All in all a great trip, and so reassuring to be able to help myself with such simple remedies.
